Center for Accessible Technology — Information to assist in decision-making about computers and adaptive technology for learning disabled students in the home or school.

Children and Adults with Attention Deficit Disorder (CHADD) — National nonprofit, parent-based organization which provides family support and advocacy, public and professional education, and encouragement of scientific research for students with attention deficit disorders. This site provides information on ADD, ordering materials, local chapters, and events.

College of Education and Human Development Division for Learning Disabilities (DLD)

CollegeView — A searchable database of colleges intended to help students find the right college for their needs. Users can specify a search for colleges with programs for students with learning disabilities, and many other parameters. The site also includes information on college applications, choosing a career, and financial aid.

Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) — CEC’s home page provides information to teachers and other service providers about special education issues for students with disabilities, and/or the gifted.

Department of Education — Broad topics and resources on education, special education, learning disabilities.

Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund (DREDF) — Legal support and advocacy to bring about additional changes and affect policies which prevent people with disabilities from participating in the mainstream.

Family Village’s Inclusive Education Resources — Information about a broad range of disabilities and medical conditions, including LD, ADHD and dyslexia. The site offers information about inclusive education, IEPS, opportunities for parents to connect with others with similar interests and concerns, and more.

HEATH Resource Center — National clearinghouse that distributes free information about disability issues in postsecondary education.

International Dyslexia Association — National, nonprofit organization dedicated to the study and treatment of dyslexia. The website offers information about the Society, dyslexia, current research, technology, legislative issues, conferences, and more.

Learning Ally — Formerly Recording for the Blind & Dyslexic (RFB). National nonprofit service organization which loans recorded and computerized books at a fee to eligible persons with visual, physical, or specific learning disabilities that substantially limit reading. This site provides details on their services, technology updates, and more.

Learning Disabilities Association of America (LDA) — A national nonprofit organization devoted to advancing the education & general welfare of persons with learning disabilities. LDA’s Online includes bulletins, fact sheets & other resources, information about many publications available for purchase, links to state chapters.

National Adult Literacy & Learning disability Center — This organization is devoted to promoting awareness about the relationship between adult literacy and learning disabilities. The website provides information for literacy practitioners.

National Association of Private Schools for Exceptional Children (NAPSEC) — Information and referral source. Regarding private special education placements.

National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) — International nonprofit membership association of school psychologists which provides a nationally recognized certification system and professional information.

National Attention Deficit Disorder Association — This nonprofit organization’s website focuses on information related to helping adults with attention deficit disorder learn successfully live with their ADD.

National Center for Learning Disabilities, Inc. (NCLD) — National, nonprofit organization, which raises public awareness, advocates for legislation and services for students with disabilities, and provides information, resources, and programs.

National Information Center for Children and Youth with Disabilities — NICHCY is a national information and referral center that provides information on disabilities and disability-related issues for families, educators, and other professionals. Their special focus is children and youth (birth to age 22).

National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) — Reviews of literature and information related to NICHD research.

National Institute of Mental Health — The Federal agency that supports research nationwide on the brain, mental illnesses, and mental health created an on-line booklet about learning disabilities.

National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS) — Loans books on tape and playback equipment free of charge to persons with disabilities made eligible through a physicians’ statement
